FAQ – Funds Recovery

How did you find me?

Using information provided by the government authorities that hold unclaimed money, we search in a number of publicly available information sources, such as the white pages, electoral rolls, and the internet for people or organisations that matched the information given.

We do not breach any privacy laws in trying to locate owners.

How do I know this is ‘for real’?

We all have to exercise due caution these days, there are too many scams out there to mention, and more are popping up all the time. You can look up Patrona Solutions on the ASIC website and see that we are a real business, owned by a real person, based in Enfield, NSW. We are registered with the New South Wales Office of State Revenue as a Fund Recovery Agent.

We will never ask you to pay anything upfront, you only pay for our services after you have received your funds. There is no need for you to risk anything other than the time it takes to find the required documentation.

We submit the documentation that you provide to the government authorities that are holding your money, they send us a cheque in your name when the claim is successful. We forward you this cheque to be deposited into your bank account.

Where is the money from?

Due to privacy considerations, we are unable to disclose the source of the funds until we receive your documentation to verify your identity and possible ownership of the funds.

Common sources of funds that we return to their rightful owners are un-presented cheques ( where an organisation posted a cheque that was never deposited ), deceased estates where the beneficiaries cannot be easily located, and payments and deposit refunds to people or organisation that have been returned due to incorrect addressing or bank details.

These are just the most common sources, there are many more …

But whatever the source, the funds eventually end up being deposited with a government authority as unclaimed funds, and we then find them and begin a thorough search for the owner.

Why do you need my identity documents?

No claim can be investigated without the necessary proof of your identity. We need to know you are who you say you are! Also, we need to be able to prove to the authority holding your funds that you really are the rightful owner. Should you not be the owner of the monies in question, those documents still in our possession will be returned to you or destroyed. You would have received a copy of our simple, no-nonsense privacy policy when we contacted you.

How long will the recovery process take?

Every case is different and some take longer than others. However, the generally claims are settled in 4-8 weeks from the time we receive the required documentation from you. We will keep you informed of the progress of your claim as it progresses, and let you know if it will take longer than this.

I have received a letter from another money agent.

If you have received letters from other money agents, please make sure you contact us before giving them authority to act on your behalf.

We strive to be the best in the industry of unclaimed money, and we strive to run a very lean operation and keep our costs as low as possible, so that you can get more of your lost funds back into your pocket. If we can offer you a better service and price than what you have been offered, we will.

We may even be able to find additional funds that the other agency could not. Since there’s no cost to you, what does it hurt to ask?

Can a result be guaranteed?

Once you have completed the agreement and returned it to us, we are then able to initiate the claim and work with the authority holding the funds. At this stage additional information will be available that will allow us to determine 100% if you are the rightful owner.

However, we can offer no guarantee that you are entitled to any funds that are outstanding. Despite our best efforts in attempting to locate the rightful owner of the funds, it is possible that we have contacted the wrong person or organisation. (So far, we have never had this happen. Touch wood!)

Will I ever have to pay any money up front?

No. All costs involved in the search are covered by Patrona Solutions. Patrona Solutions will at no point request any form of payment in advance. You only pay us after you have received your funds.

Are you able to check for any claims that are owing to another family member (or my business / my friends business …)?

Yes, we can check claims for any individual or organisation. The details that we need to perform a search are full name and address (current and prior). Please contact us using the form below if you would like us to perform this search. There is no charge for this service.
